The Future Mooneys

Lucas and Peyton hugged in celebration of Jonathan (weird to write that out) and Abby's engagement.  Hooray!

Maybe a bit confused about what an engagement is, but definitely cute!

Easter

The Faminis like everyone to put on a snazzy outfit to celebrate Easter, even baby Lucas.

Family shot!
Lucas got to work on his serious intellectual face with Great-Uncle Kenneth...
and tried to pick his Great-Grandpa's nose!
Then the real fun started- practicing standing with cousin Bridget
and putting on some real fancy bunny ears! Happy 1st Easter!

Alllllllmost

Lucas is continuing to learn new skills.  Like staring and snapping his fingers when he wants food.
Ok, not really.  But he can stare, and thats technically a skill in my book.

He hasn't quite mastered sitting on the couch yet

BFF Tank

One of Lucas's favorite past-times is staring at his BFF Tank.
Sometimes Tank returns the favor
Tank still has enough quickness to elude LL.  For now.  Even with a limping leg.  Please send Tank some healing thoughts - he had surgery on his right leg on Friday (the 17th).  Not many dogs get 2 bionic legs!

Baby shower

Lucas and I had some male bonding at a park in Rincon Valley while Amy celebrated the future Holzapfel's baby shower.  Lucas was obviously excited:

We did a few laps around the fields, watched some of a Marilla Carillo baseball game and saw a bulldog do some sweet moves at the dogpark.

When Lucas woke up, we played a few round of peek-a-boo.  He is a big fan right now.
Another good smile - the back of the car make for some high-quality peek-a-boo. Overall, a great day.

Grandmas 60th II

The second part of the Grandma-Karen's-birthday-tour took us to Big Trees State Park.  There is a large number of Sequoias that live here (and some that visit)
A little more perspective on the Sequoia's differing heights

The Grandparents were happy as they were actually surrounded by something older than them.  (Booyah!  Old joke for the 60th b-day trip!)

Little did we know that a 14 mile drive would be up 3000 feet and see the park covered in snow!  Lucas (who was in shorts) got his first experience with the cold stuff, bundled up nice and warm.

We walked single file after the Sanchinis had to ditch Sparrow's stroller

Mother and son at the Mother and Son trees
Amy very nimbly averted the muddy trail.
Lucas was impressed by the whole park, but especially his mom's face.

Lucas and I finally got our photo op and made the most of it.  Yay for birthdays!

PAWS

Lucas had his first hotel stay for Grandma Karen's birthday.  It went pretty well, but our daily activities were more exciting than the Murphys Suites.  Dr Dan showed us around one of his part-time job sites - PAWS, where retired elephants and tigers go to roam.

This elephant (Mara?) followed us as we walked, then did some tricks with the fence.  Of course this made Lucas want to suck on a fence too.

Dan and cousin Sequoia led the way to the tiger facility - these are the "dens" attached to the large yard.  Man, tigers are BIG!  My digital camera died, so I only have B&W film pictures, which don't show tigers very well =(

The night ended on a high note for Lucas - he got some Grandma time as we all ate pizza!  Yay for birthdays!

Day in the life

Oh hello, how's it going?  Let me tell you about my day...
I took a bath (don't worry, I didn't let them clean my fingers)

I hung out with my pops and practiced my blank stare

I watched Tank play with a stuffed bear

And, well, I got a little cranky when I was tired.  I'm only 5 months old, what do you expect?

Test Drive

Since Lucas is close to being allowed to eat solids, we took the high-chair and spoon for a test drive.

So far so good, the water went down smooooth.

As you can see, Lucas is more than ready.  I think his right hand is signing "bring me some ribs!"

City trip!

Amy and I got on BART and a little thuggy thang jumped on her lap.

Thats no thug...it's just Lucas looking urban for our trip to downtown SF.

We shopped around, but Lucas was intent on showing that he was an independent dude - and took control of his snack.

On the way home, BART was filled up like rush hour!  We stood and tried to mind our own business.

The guy next to us was apparently minding our business as well.  Yay first BART ride/SF trip for Lucas!
